ABOUT
This magical Resort is located in Southwestern Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale districts close to the Rwandan border and is 900 meters deep, one of the deepest lakes in Africa. Most accommodations are located in Rutinda Northwest of the Lake. The place is also known as a home of many little birds including water birds and migratory birds. The beauty of the lake made it appear on the Five Thousand Shillings Note. The lake has 29 small islands that you can Kayak or Boat ride to.
FUN ACTIVITIES TO DO AT LAKE BUNYONYI
Kayaking on the beautiful lake: Lake Bunyonyi is known for its clean water because there are no Hippos here (life-threatening animals) like in other lakes of Uganda. The water is safe and you can swim safely. Because of the many islands, this is the perfect place to explore the lake on a kayak.
View the lake and the islands from a higher vantage point: A real must is to view Lake Bunyonyi from a higher point and if you go higher you can watch the lake and the islands. Acardia lodges in Lake Bunyonyi are high enough and therefore the perfect place to watch the sunset over the lake with a drink.
Visit the Supreme Adventure Park at the edge of Bunyonyi: Near the village of Rutinda is a small island where you can go Zip lining, Canoeing, and taking high ropes.
Bird watching: Nyombe swamp is the best bird-watching site on the lake.
Picnics at the top of the world: This magical resort destination surrounded by steep terraced hills and exotic landscapes is very ideal for picnics.
