DAY 1 : Tramsfer to Kibale National Park. On this first day, you will depart from Kampala or Entebbe in a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle, heading west to Kibale National Park. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, passing through lush greenery, tea plantations, and scenic countryside via Mityana - Mubende - Fort Portal Rd. En route, stop for a delicious Ugandan lunch in Fort Portal / at the lodge, a charming town known for its stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Arrival & Check-In: Arrive at your lodge near Kibale Forest and settle in. Enjoy the serene surroundings and relax for the evening. (optional, Spa treatment and Yoga experience). Optional Activity: Take a short nature walk around the lodge or visit a nearby crater lake or visit the tea estates around. Accommodation, Overnight: Chimpundu Safari Lodge or you may upgrade to Primate Lodge Kibale at an extra fee, Turaco Treetops, or Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse (depending on budget). DAY 2 : Chimpanzee Trekking. Early morning Breakfast. Start your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your adventure. Chimpanzee Trekking: Head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your chimpanzee trekking experience. This Chimpanzee tracking experience, will be guided by experienced rangers, you’ll track a troop of habituated chimpanzees, observing their playful behavior, social dynamics, and unique vocalizations. (The trek lasts 2-4 hours depending on the chimpanzees' location.) After, Return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. Bigodi Wetland Walk: In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-based project known for its rich biodiversity. Spot various bird species, butterflies, monkeys, and unique flora. After, you will return back to the lodge. Evening Leisure: Enjoy a relaxed evening at your lodge, reflecting on the day’s experiences. or enjoy some Spa & Sauna therapy treatment, or self meditation to unwind and rejuvenate at the lodge. DAY 3 : Departure - Return to Kampala / Entebbe On this day, you will have Morning Relaxation. After breakfast, enjoy some leisure time at the lodge or take a short walk to explore the surroundings. Optional Activity: Visit a nearby community project like Isunga community, Bigodi community, or crater lakes before departure. Return Journey, begin the drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive in the late afternoon, concluding your adventure at the Airport or a pre- booked hotel in Kampala / Entebbe. Accommodation: None. Meals: Breakfast, & Lunch only |
